Tehran, January 21, The Iran Project – Energy Minister says by generating 90% of needed electricity within the country, Iran is among the top seven countries which consumes the home-made generated electricity.
Hamid Chitchian, Iran's Minister of Energy made the remarks on Wednesday during the closing ceremony of 6th Conference on Thermal Power Plants in Iran, in the University of Science and Technology.
During his speech, he noted Iran's high status besides the countries such as Japan, China, Italy, Germany, France and USA in producing electricity, saying that energy ministry established MAPNA decades ago in order to put an end to 25 years of foreign companies' involvement in Iran's power plants and installations.
Referring to the competitiveness and promoting the efficiency as the solutions to sustain the current accomplishments, he added that public participation, expansions of export, promotion of efficiency and knowledge-based economy are the key tools to achieve resistant economy.
Sixth Conference on Thermal Power Plants (Gas, Combined-Cycle, Steam) was held in 19-20 January 2016 in Iran University of Science and Technology with cooperation of Mapna Group.
