TEHRAN, Feb. 1 (Shana) – The National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) has completed 30 wells in South Azadegan and 12 more in South Yaran oil fields, said the company’s first deputy managing director.
“Up to 70 percent of drilling operation in South Azadegan filed has been carried out and it is planned to be completed in the next four months,”
Mohammad-Reza Takayedi told Shana.“Some of the wells will be handed over to contractors by yearend (March 20),” he added.The Ministry of Petroleum has plans to focus on oil production from Yadavaran, North Azadegan, South Azadegan, North Yaran and South Yaran oil fields, all of which Iran shares with Iraq.
Last November, NIDC and the Italian oil firm Eni signed a draft MoU on expansion of bilateral cooperation in drilling industries.
