Iran willing to broaden cooperation with Ghana

Tehran, Feb 13, IRNA - Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare Ali Rabiei said on Saturday that the Islamic Republic of Iran as island of stability in the region is willing to broaden cooperation with Ghana.


Rabiei made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Ghana's Minister of Development organizations Mustafa Muhammed.
There are many cultural commonalities between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Ghana, he said.

Close relations between Iran and Ghana leave positive impacts on restoration of global peace and Tehran-Accra relations, Rabiei said.
He said some 30 agreements were signed in the meeting of Iran-Ghana Joint Economic Commission last year and currently after removal the sanctions, the grounds for expansion of cooperation are well-prepared.

Many European and American companies wish to expand economic cooperation with Iran, he said, adding that Iranian government attaches importance to expansion of cooperation with Africa.

The Islamic Republic of Iran and Ghana can share partnership to increase level of trade exchange between the two countries, Rabiei said.
Iran is now having broad based cooperation with African countries such as Niger, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Brunei and mind to boost such cooperation with Ghana as well, he said.

The visiting Ghana's minister, for his part said Ghana has benefited from Iran's experience in many fields.
'We are happy to witness that Iran has maintained stability during sanctions era and after prolonged talks with G5+1 achieved its goals,' he said.
The two countries should spare no efforts to broaden level of mutual relations and cooperation, said the visiting minister.
