Italian director of Iranian origin's movie to vie for top position

Berlin, Feb 20, IRNA- German Magazine Stern predicted that 'I'm Nero' (Soy Nero) and ' Fire at Sea ' (Fuocoammare) are more likely to bag Golden Bear award in Berlin Festival.


'I'm Nero' was directed by Italian director of Iranian origin, Rafi Pitts whereas ' Fire at Sea ' was directed by Gianfranco Rosi.

'I'm Nero' which is Rafi Pitts' fifth long movie has been produced commonly by Germany, France and Mexico.

He participated in Berlin Festival with The Hunter (2010) and
It's Winter (2006).

The Golden Bear (German: Goldener Bär) is the highest prize awarded for the best film at the Berlin International Film Festival. The bear is the heraldic animal of Berlin, featured on both the coat of arms and flag of Berlin.

Previously Asghar Farhadi received the Golden Bear fot his masterpiece 'A Separation'.

66th Berlin International Film Festival with the presence of renowned Actress Meryl Streep is underway.
