Islamabad, Feb 25, IRNA – Iran's President has planned a trip to Islamabad in answer to the recent official trip of Pakistan's Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to Tehran, says Iran's ambassador to Pakistan.


'The time of the visit has not been fixed yet,' Mehdi Honardoost told Pakistani journalists Wednesday Evening.

The Iranian envoy also expressed dissatisfaction over the present level of trade exchanges between Iran and Pakistan and said that in the post-sanction era, the two neighboring countries have an ample opportunity to expand their trade exchanges.

Tehran and Islamabad can embark on an array of big and small joint projects to boost cooperation, he said.

'At present time, the completion of construction of the natural gas pipeline constitutes the main priority, as it can represent a turning point in addressing the energy crisis in Pakistan,' he added.

Iran is also ready to export electricity to Pakistan, he said.

The Iranian ambassador called on the Pakistani media to play their due role in helping enhancement of economic and trade ties between the two nations.

'Now that Iran is no longer under sanctions, the Pakistani media are urged to encourage their country take great strides to develop economic and trade ties with Iran.'
