Tehran, Feb 27, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani here on Saturday emphasized the need for fostering joint cooperation in counter-terrorism efforts across the world.
 
The President made the remarks here on Saturday in a joint press conference with his Swiss counterpart.

President Rouhani also called for precise implementation of the World Against Violence and Extremism (WAVE) resolution.

In December 2013, the General Assembly overwhelmingly voted to approve President Rouhani’s WAVE proposal, which called on all nations across the globe to denounce violence and extremism.

'Iran and Switzerland could pave the way for fostering mutual cooperation including presenting humanitarian aids to Yemen and Syria,' he added.

'The two sides enjoy common sense in mutual and regional issues,' President Rouhani added.

'Iran and Switzerland are determined to expand mutual relations,' he said, reiterating that this visit could be fruitful for expansion of mutual relations.

The Swiss president arrived in Tehran on Friday evening.
