TEHRAN, Mar. 06 (MNA) – Karim Lakzadeh’s 'The Gambler' and Mahmoud Ghaffari’s 'Hair' have entered the competitive section of 2016 Festival International de Films de Fribourg (FIFF).
Directed by Karim Lakzadeh, the short film The Gambler will experience its first international screening at the 30th edition of Germany’s Fribourg International Film Festival.
Produced by Iranian Youth Cinema Society, The Gambler is set in a misty village on the top of a mountain where two gamblers hijack an old man to his own cottage to get back the money that is supposed to be there.
The Gambler will compete with 15 other short films present in 2016 FIFF while Mahmoud Ghaffari’s Hair will attend the feature film section of the festival.
Hair narrates the story of three young Iranian women, all deaf-mute karate champions, are invited to compete at the World Championships in Germany.
The Iranian director Karim Lakzadeh had previously won the festival’s Special Jury Award for the short film Jila.
The 2016 FIFF will convene in the city of Freiburg in Switzerland from March 11-19 hosting two Iranian productions.
