Tehran, April 5, IRNA – None of Iranian airline companies need the Saudi Arabian air space for their flights, a local aviation official told IRNA.
Ebrahim Moradi explained that following the severance of relations with Saudi Arabia, two of Iran’s airlines namely Iran Air and Mahan which had regular flight schedules from Iran’s Mashhad to Dammam in Saudi Arabia stopped their programs.
He stressed that none of Iranian companies are currently flying to Saudi destinations.
He added since none of Iranian companies carry “scheduled” flights to African countries, they have no need to Saudi air space.
Taking all these points into consideration, the official said, the recent decision of Saudi officials to ban Iranian Mahan Airline has no effect whatsoever on the performance of Iranian airlines.
