Oil prices fluctuate ahead of producer meeting to discuss curbing output

14 Apr 2016 - 16:47

Doubts are growing that any output deal could have a significant impact on prices

LONDON—Oil prices fluctuated on Thursday amid market skepticism about whether major producers would agree to curb output at a meeting this weekend.

Heavyweight suppliers, including Saudi Arabia and Russia, are gathering in Doha, Qatar, on Sunday for talks on limiting production to support prices. But doubts are growing that even if they manage to clinch an agreement, it may not be strong enough to alleviate the continuing global glut of crude.
