Tehran, April 25, IRNA – Some 360,693 Afghan students are studying in Iranian schools, said an Education Ministry official here Sunday.
The ministry’s official for international affairs, Khalilollah Babalou said besides the above-mentioned Afghan students, most of Afghan children who are currently residing illegally in Iran, have been enrolled in schools and are able to continue their education according to an edict issued by the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Babalou notified that the Afghan students pay low tuition fees in proportion to their families’ income and their school levels. However, he added, no Afghan student has been dropped out of school because of non-payment of fees.
Most Afghan students are studying in schools of Tehran, Khorasan Razavi, Isfahan, Qom, Fars, Alborz, and Kerman Provinces, he said.
