Tehran, May 2, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani officially welcomed his visiting South Korean counterpart Park Geun-hye here on Monday.


The welcoming ceremony was held at the cultural and historical complex of Saadabad in north of Tehran.

Ms. Park Geun-hye is the first South Korean president visiting Iran since the establishment of relations between the two countries in 1962.

After the national anthems of the two countries were played, Iranian and South Korean presidents inspected guard of honour.

Soon after the welcoming ceremony, the two presidents started holding bilateral talks.

President Park Geun-hye accompanied by a 236-member delegation arrived in Tehran on Sunday.
