Tehran, May 24, IRNA – The inauguration ceremony of the fifth Assembly of Experts started here on Tuesday.


On February 26, Iranians voted for their representatives in the fifth Assembly of Experts and tenth Parliament (Majlis) elections nationwide.

The 88-member Assembly of Experts is an important body in Iran responsible for supervising and electing the country's supreme leader.

The members of the Assembly are elected for 8-year tenure.
