Rouhani calls for giving the private sector due role to advance economy

Mahabad, West Azarbaijan province, May 31, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday that the government believes the private sector must be given due role to stimulate national economy and achieve the Economy of Resistance.

He made the remarks in inauguration ceremony of Mahabad petrochemical complex.

Government and nation should prepare the ground for activating the non-governmental sector and entrepreneurs in the country's economy.
He said that the government has made planning to achieve the Economy of Resistance.

Five-year of sanctions on Iran drove the private sector to bankruptcy and the companies affiliated to the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps undertook handling foreign trade, so that the people have no part in the profits of the economy of 80 million population.

Presiden Rouhani said that giving the private sector their part will make the national economy resistant to foreign pressures and the sanctions.

Rouhani talked about importance of development of ties with the world and said that strong ties with the outside world will make the country powerful.

He said that the best way for a secure economy in current situation is to strengthen relations with other world countries and better trade ties with the neighboring states.

President Rouhani said that the government advocates progress of value-added products in the country as one of the important economic policies.
The petrochemical complex is one of the biggest industrial unit on northwestern Iran.

Some 12,000 billion rials investment has been made on the project.

Petroleum Minister and a number of senior officials attended the ceremony.

President Rouhani and his cabinet arrived in West Azarbaijan province on Monday.
