Zahedan, Sistan-Baluchestan Prov, June 12, IRNA - University of Sistan-Baluchestan (USB) admitted the first application from a foreign student for studying in this university in its way towards becoming an international university.
Speaking to reporters, President of the University Alireza Bandani said on Saturday that this university started accepting foreign students by admitting a student from Africa for the first time.
Bandani who is also head of Iran-Pakistan joint scientific committee said that in his recent visit to Pakistan, the two countries agreed on exchange of student.
He also referred to his consultations with a Spanish official during a recent trip to the country and said the University of Sistan-Baluchestan has got legal permission for absorbing foreign students.
The official noted that the University of Sistan-Baluchestan will change to an international university in the near future.
The University of Sistan-Baluchestan admitted the first application for studying in this university at the doctorate level and it has planned to absorb more students from Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Europe, he added.
According to the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology statistics, University of Sistan-Baluchestan has ranked among the 20 top universities of Iran in the past two years, Bandani said.
