TEHRAN, Jul. 18 (MNA) An Iranian MP has deemed the barring of heavy water purchases from Iran by the US as a new violation of JCPOA.
Seyyed Hossein Naghavi Hosseini, Spokesman for the Iranian Parliaments National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, pointed to the legislation passed by Republican-weighted US House of Representatives to block the purchase of heavy water from Iran saying since the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Americans have been unfaithful to the deal sparing no effort to leave Iran bereft of benefits.
Accordingly, they have created a chain of barriers to the agreement most of which were caused by US House representatives as well as members of the US Congress, he continued.
The official referred to the three anti-Iran legislations passed by the US House of Representatives including the bans on selling Boeing aircraft to Iran, purchasing heavy water from Iran as well as Irans entrance to the market of dollar financial exchange; these three legislations mark three rings of the chain to ignore JCPOA obligations as well as to derail the deal.
Reiterating that these measures violate the deal, dubbed Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Naghavi Hosseini asserted despite earlier warnings by President Barack Obama to veto such a measure, the reality remains that these legislations would maintain the Iranophobia atmosphere since they show red light to economic groups who are eager to make investments in the Iranian market.
The Iranian MP touched upon possibleimmediate actions in case the new legislations become finalized in the US Congress emphasizing given that these measures are contrary to JCPOA provisions, necessary steps need to be taken according to the guidelines provided in the deal itself which required formation of a joint commission between Iran and the 5+1 group of countries.
