Zarif: Iran ready to cooperate with Ghana to fight terrorism

Tehran, July 26, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif voiced Iran's readiness to cooperate with the African state of Ghana on fighting terrorism and extremism.


'A new chapter of very good relations between Iran and Ghana; we are ready to cooperate with Ghana on fighting terrorism and extremism,' Zarif said in a meeting with Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama in Accra on Tuesday.

He said that bilateral relations between the two countries are at a very satisfactory level and multilateral cooperation in international organizations is also very good.

Zarif and Dramani Mahama called for expansion of relations and cooperation in the international organizations.

Zarif is leading a politico-economic delegation on a tour to four African countries.

He visited Nigeria and is currently in Ghana.

He is due to visit Guinea Conakry and then Mali.
