Ground ready for enhancement of Iran-Singapore ties: Deputy FM

Kuala Lumpur, July 27, IRNA – Ground is ready for promotion of relations between Iran and Singapore, Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia-Pacific Affairs Ebrahim Rahimpour said on Wednesday.


He made the remarks in a meeting with Senior Minister of State at the Singapore's Prime Minister's Office.

The deputy foreign minister also referred to the upcoming visit by Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to Iran and Central Bank of Iran Chief Valiollah Seif visit to Singapore and voiced hope for enhancement of relations between the two states.

He welcomed participation of the Singapore traders and investors in Iranian projects including oil, gas, and construction of hotels, skyscrapers, roads, railways and desalination plants.

The two officials referred to the exchange of high-ranking delegations between Iran and Singapore in recent months and hailed furthering of cooperation between the two states.

Rahimpour who is in Singapore to attend the third meeting of political Consultative Commission also held talks with Singaporean Speaker of Parliament Halima Yacob on Tuesday.

Deputy foreign minister left Tehran for Singapore and Indonesia Sunday night.
