Tehran, Aug 18, IRNA - Special aide to Majlis (Parliament) speaker Hossein Amir Abdollahian stressed that regional questions should be addressed by the elements living inside the region.
He made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Norwegian Foreign Minister Borge Brende here.
The Syrian crises would have been solved long ago through diplomatic solutions were it not for sabotages by the US and Saudi Arabia who supported terrorists as well as illegal armed groups, Amir Abdollahian stressed.
Referring to the regional developments including those in Syria, Yemen and Iraq, the speaker's special aid said 'The Americans were interested in solving the regional questions through bilateral cooperation with Iran, but their historical unfaithfulness to their commitments was considered by Iran as a serious obstacle to put trust in the US in terms of regional issues.'
Meanwhile, he added, the issues related to the region should be solved by the regional members.
About Iran's stance on the Syrian crisis, he stressed that Tehran from the outset of the conflicts believed in diplomatic solutions not military ways.
On situation in Iraq, Amir Abdollahian said Tehran continues helping both Syria and Iraq through its military advisories who combat terrorism.
At the end, he referred to Bahrain's conditions and urged more attention to human rights situation in that country.
He made the remarks about Bahrain while referring to stripping nationality from Sheikh Isa Qassim in that country.
Amir Abdollahian called such Bahraini action against Sheikh Isa Qassim as blatant violation of human rights.
