TEHRAN, Aug. 18 (MNA) – Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi strongly condemned terrorist blasts early this morning in two Turkish cities of Van and Elazig.
"Enemies with their dirty hands have intensified their desperate efforts to create insecurity and instability in the region, especially in Islamic countries," Ghasemi said, calling upon the watchful consciences in the international community, especially those in the region, to take a swift action to prevent and stop such savage slaughters.
Undoubtedly, he stressed, these inhumane terrorist acts can never help terrorists reach objectives, but establish solidarity among more people in the region to fight these barbaric acts.
"As we have repeatedly stated, the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns any acts of violence and terrorism in any form and any place; Iran always denounces the killing of innocent people deeming it a humanitarian catastrophe," Ghasemi noted.
Offering the sympathy of Iran’s government and nation to the government and people of Turkey, Ghasemi expressed profound condolences over the sad incident to the bereaved families of the victims.
Two explosions hit police stations in eastern Turkey on Thursday killing and wounding tens of people. It is said that the PKK (the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party) are responsible for the terrorist attack in Turkey.
