Tehran, Sept 3, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi on Saturday conferred with Japanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs Kentaro Sonoura on issues of mutual interest.


The Japanese state minister for foreign affairs has arrived in Tehran for a one-day visit.

Sonoura is also scheduled to meet with Ebrahim Rahimpour, the deputy foreign minister for Asia-Pacific affairs, later in the day.

Iran and Japan signed an investment document during a visit to Japan seven months ago by Economy Minister Ali Tayyebnia.

The document was signed after Japan lifted sanctions on Iran following signing a landmark nuclear deal between Iran and the six world powers last year.

Based on this document, the Japanese companies will have better access to the Iranian market compared to other international companies.
