TEHRAN, Sept 27 (Shana) – The 18th Consultative Session of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) will be held in Doha on November 17, 2016.
The GECF Secretary General Mohammad-Hossein Adeli will chair the session.
The GECF states assume 42 percent of the world gas production, enjoy 67 percent of the world gas reserves, handle 38 percent of gas transfer through pipelines and are responsible for 85 percent of the LNG trade.
Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, Trinidad and Tubaga, Venezuela, and the UAE are 12 main GECF members and the Netherlands, Norway, Iraq, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Oman and Peru are the observer status members.
The 17th Ministerial Meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) was convened in Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran on Saturday, 21st November 2015, under the Chairmanship of His Excellency Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
