Hanoi, Oct 7, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani left Hanoi for Kuala Lumpur Friday morning after exploring avenues for promoting bilateral ties with Vietnamese officials.
President Rouhani arrived in Hanoi on Oct. 5 leading a high ranking political and economic delegation on the first leg of his regional tour to South-East Asian nations which will later take him to Thailand as well.
During his visit to Hanoi on Thursday, he held talks with President Tran Dai Quang and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong.
Two agreements on IT and removal of visa for special and service sectors appliers were also signed during Rouhani's visit to the country.
The two countries also agreed to hold Joint Iran-Vietnam Commission in Tehran soon.
Other agreements on boosting economic, banking, financial, tourism and commercial cooperation were also inked during the trip.
Rouhani described his visit to Hanoi and talks with the Vietnamese senior officials as successful, saying that decisions made during the trip will open a new chapter in Tehran-Hanoi relations.
Rouhani and his accompanying delegation are to discuss enhancement of bilateral ties with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak Tun and other high-ranking officials during their stay in Kuala Lumpur.
