TEHRAN, Oct 07 (Shana) – President Hassan Rouhani in a joint press conference with the Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak on Friday urged Malaysian companies to invest in Iran's oil, gas and petrochemical sector.

Iran welcomes presence of Malaysian companies in Iran's oil, gas and petrochemicals sectors as well as cooperation between the two states in the area of Halal food industry, Rouhani added.

He said that the two countries plan to revive ties to the previous level and after that double the level of cooperation.

There are good potentials for raise of cooperation between the two countries particularly the private sectors in the post-sanctions era, President noted.

Rouhani referred to Iran and Malaysia scientific, technological, academic and tourism potentials and urged boost of ties in these fields.
