IRNA – Denmark and other European countries can play better and more effective roles to solve the regional questions, especially those related to terrorism and Takfiri and extremism trends, a Iranian senior official said.
Ali Akbar Velayati, Head of the Strategic Research Center of Iran's Expediency Council, made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting Danish State Secretary Lone Dencker Wisborg.
Today, the terrorists are present in over 80 world countries including the European states and have mounted a small world war against the oppressed nations in the region, Velayati noted.
Velayati, who is also the senior advisor to the Supreme Leader, talked of Iran-Denmark relations, saying there are proper grounds for further bilateral ties that should be followed up seriously.
About the issue of Syria, Velayati said Iran from the outset of the crisis in that country has stressed importance of finding a political solution for it.
Undoubtedly, he noted, the Syrian crisis has no military way.
The developments in Syria, Iraq and other regional countries are interrelated, said Velayati, stressing that Iran is well ready to cooperate in line with ensuring regional peace, security and stability.
For her part, the Danish official called for fostering ties between the two countries.
She further underlined the importance of finding a peaceful political solution to the regional crises.
