IRNA– Indonesian Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi called for Iran’s contribution in construction and investment projects in airport and port sectors in Indonesia.
In a meeting with the Iranian Ambassador to Jakarta Valiollah Mohammadi Nasrabadi in Jakarta on Tuesday, the minister called on Iranian companies to contribute in building tens of ports and airports in his country.
During the meeting, the two officials also discussed ways of promoting bilateral cooperation in different areas including transportation.
The Iranian ambassador further handed the invitation of the Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi to the minister to visit Iran.
Pointing to the old-standing and cultural commonalties between the two nations, he stressed the will of both nations to further expand relations.
The Indonesian minister welcomed the invitation and hoped the experiences and presence of Iranian companies active in transportation section could lead more cooperation between the two countries.
The minister further noted that his government is seeking to build 22 ports and 20 airports across the country.
They also stressed the need for establishing a direct air link between Tehran and Jakarta.
