In a report published on Wednesday, the Iranian newspaper said that the Chairman of the Federation Council, Valentina Matviyenko, visited Tehran on Sunday and Monday where she held talks about “Russia’s desire to use the Iranian airbase again.” No further details were provided.

According to Iran’s ISNA news agency, permission is “likely” to be given. However, neither the Iranian nor Russian authorities were available to comment on the report.
