IRNA – Senior Iranian environment official in a meeting with Iraqi President Fuad Masum exchanged views on issues of mutual interest mainly about how to tackle dust and haze pollution storming the two neighboring countries.
The meeting was held in Morocco by Iran’s Vice-President and Head of the Department of Environment Masoomeh Ebtekar who is currently in Morocco to attend the 22nd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 22) as well as the first Kyoto protocol (CMP 12) and 12TH meeting of the parties to the Paris Agreement (CMA1).
Referring to the importance of Climate Change issue worldwide, Ebtekar said that Iran and Iraq can broaden bilateral cooperation to deal with the issue.
She voiced Iran’s complete readiness to help Iraq solve the problem of dust and haze pollution by planting trees in their joint border areas and holding training workshops for Iraqi experts.
