MNA– Leader’s senior international adviser has said UNSG envoy to Syria was working to facilitate disintegration of Syria.
Mr. Ali Akbar Velayati who was speaking to the press conference of the International Conference on Regional Security Order in the West Asia on Tuesday, said that the rapid pace of developments in the region has exceeded the pace in which threats developed; such state of change was unprecedented even compared with that in the recent past and contemporary history, Velayati was quoted.
Head of Strategic Research Center believed the US would not be allowed to play the role of the single pole of power; their dreams of leading the world will not be fulfilled,” he told the press.
“In Iraq, for example, the US failed to keep a strong footprints since the public as well as the government repelled them; in Mosul liberation, they [the US coalition] claimed that liberation would not be achieved without the US contributing to operations, but the public mobilization along with the Iraqi Army had succeeded to liberate larger part of the regions formerly ISIL territories; other countries with same claims found the doomed fate of the US,’ he detailed.
On UNSG envoy to Syria, Velayati believed Mr. de Mistura had not been a true representative of an impartial organization, but that he worked to facilitate disintegration of Syria by proposing that a local government be established in eastern Aleppo, to which Assad showed no respect; on JCPOA and extension of ISA, Leader’s adviser warned the US of strong response to the violation of the JCPOA.
Still on Syria, Velayati criticized the view of good and bad terrorists; “in Syria, Assad is the legitimate president and should advance to the end the project to destroy terrorism,’ he concluded.
