TASS- Kamaz, GAZ and Sollers may sign contracts on local manufacturing content in Iran in 2017, Russia’s Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Georgy Kalamanov told TASS on the sidelines of the Russian-Iranian business forum on Tuesday.
"Kamaz, GAZ and Sollers are interested in the Iranian market, they’re now exploring the possibilities. The Iranian partners are negotiating not only supplies, but also potentially the local manufacturing content in Iran. This concerns not only cars, it concerns everything - vehicle devices, other areas," he said, adding that "2017 may see steady contracts."
The Russian-Iranian business forum is backed by Russia’s Economic Development Ministry, Industry and Trade Ministry, Energy Ministry, as well as the Russian Export Center, Iran’s Embassy in the Russian Federation and Iran's Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Representatives of Russian and Iranian official and business circles discuss the issues of the expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation, measures to prop up Russian and Iranian business at the national level, to boost industrial and technical ties between the two countries, and to cooperate in various areas.
