IRNA – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei received families of seven martyred defenders of the holy shrines in Tehran.


The Leader received families of Iranian commandos, who attained martyrdom in Syria during advisory mission.

In the meeting on Thursday, the Leader praised the high position of martyrs and said, 'The martyrs are source of pride not only for the Army but also for the Iranian people.'

Ayatollah Khamenei said, 'Had the ill-wishers and plotters, who are agents for hostility of the US and Zionism, not been prevented there (in Syria), we should have prevented them in the Iranian provinces of Tehran, Fars, Khorasan and Isfahan. These (the martyrs) brought the enemy into inits knees.'
