IRNA – Bolivian President Evo Morales in a message to his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani extended his condolences to the Iranian president, government and nation on the occasion of late Chairman of Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.

'I extend my condolences to the Iranian government and nation on the passing away of Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani,' President Morales said.

Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani, also former president and veteran politician, passed away on Sunday after experiencing a heart attack.

Late Ayatollah Rafsanjani's funeral procession was held on Tuesday morning in Tehran University and Imam Khomeini Mausoleum.
