22 Jan 2017 - 17:07

IRNA – The assistant to President Hassan Rouhani in citizens' rights has called on Muslim women to set the lawyers without border organization to promote peace and stand up for women's rights.

'The establishment of lawyers without borders organization by the women across the Muslim nations could help prevent conflicts while it can provide services to the human society in the times of war as well as during post-war eras,' said Elham Aminzadeh on Sunday, addressing the international seminar on the role of Iranian and Arab female thinkers in promoting cultural engagement and dialogue.

'The third-generation human rights deal essentially with peace, a domain where women could play a crucial role in claiming it both in the Muslim nations and on the global arena. As they are the women who lost their families in the conflicts and hence they need special treatment,' Aminzadeh said.

Referring to the presence of more than 11,000 female lawyers in Iran, the assistant to President Rouhani proposed the establishment of a joint front by the Islamic and Arab countries to stand up for the women's rights.

'Development of the Islamic civilization is not solely the result of efforts by men. Women, constituting half of the society, from the early days of Islam have played a unique role in promoting the Islamic civilization,' Aminzadeh said.
