IRNA - Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Reza Salehi-Amiri said here Saturday evening that the Iranian government respects artists and men of culture.
Salehi-Amiri made the remarks in the inauguration ceremony of the 35th edition of Fajr Film Festival which opened in Tehran on Saturday evening.
He said the ground is ready for those active in film indsustry to undertake their activities in the society.
Salehi-Amiri also expressed hope that the people active in movie making as forerunners of Iranian art and culture could play a key role for reinforcing the Islamic Republic’s reputation and honor across the globe.
The Iranian minister also described the prestigious event the best venue for expansion of dialogue and interaction between the movie people.
Fajr Film Festival will be running in Tehran and several other Iranian cities from Jan. 29 to Feb. 9.
