Iranian, French FMs meet in Tehran

IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif and his visiting French counterpart Jean-Marc Ayrault held talks here Tuesday morning.


The talks focused on the regional and bilateral issues.

The talks were held after opening of the Iran-France joint economic commission which is the first after the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

The members of the two sides’ delegations are to sign four documents on cooperation at the joint economic commission.

The volume of exchange between Iran and France was 1.5 billion euros in the past ten months, while the figure is planned to triple.

French foreign minister heading a 60-member delegation arrived in Tehran on Monday evening.

During his two-day stay here, Ayrault is to meet with President Hassan Rouhani, Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani.
