IRNA – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani officially welcomed his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev at Saadabad Cultural Complex on Sunday morning.
After the official welcome ceremony, the two presidents will have bilateral talks and the two countries’ high-ranking delegations will discuss issues of mutual interest.
Several cooperation documents are AZERBAIJANexpected to be signed during today's meetings betwen the officials of the two countries.
Aliyev is in Iran for a one-day official visit. This is his third visit to Tehran since Rouhani was elected as Iran’s president in 2013. President Rouhani has also visited Baku twice.
According to Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia and Pacific Affairs Ebrahim Rahimpour, the two countries will pursue execution of previous agreements and will sign a document for financing the Astara-Rasht railway.
Iranian and Azeri officials are also expected to talk the latest regional and international developments and mutual ties in particular fighting terrorism and drug trafficking.
