8 Mar 2017 - 16:25

IRNA – There is no obstacle on the way of foreign tourists to enter Iran, Head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Iran (ICHTO) Zahra Ahmadipour said.

She made the remarks in a Tuesday meeting with Deputy Speaker of German parliament Claudia Roth in Berlin.

Ahmadipour said Iranian modern and traditional arts are developing well.

“Iran’s handicrafts market is one of the areas seriously damaged as a result of imposing sanctions on Iran,” she said.

“Implementing Iran’s nuclear deal and lifting sanctions has developed handicrafts products in a good way,” she added.

“Fortunately, after holding 17th International Convention of the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA) on Jan 28 in Iran, some of European and American tour leaders have chosen Iran as the tourism destination for the first 6 months of 2017, since they would like to experience post-JCPOA Iran,” she said.

Regarding Iran’s rules, she said that during the 17th WFTGA International Convention, foreign tour guides believed that hijab is also a kind of tourist attraction in Iran.

“Last week, Iran and Germany inked an agreement on showing 500 Iranian historical works in the city of Bonn, Germany,' she said.
