IRNA – Iran’s Department of Environment and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) inked a marine environment cooperation document on Saturday.
The cooperation document was inked in the presence of Vice President and Head of the Department of Environment Masoumeh Ebtekar.
The environment program aims to help execution of a comprehensive plan for protection and management of southern coastal regions.
The southern province of Hormuzgan was chosen as pilot region for execution of the comprehensive plan.
Iran’s vice president said in the ceremony held to celebrate the event that Iran’s southern and northern provinces are facing lots of environemtal problems.
She called for paying enough attention to sustainable management of the coastal regions and taking environmental problems into consideration.
She voiced hope for successful execution of projects in Hormuzgan as pre-condition to its execution in other coastal regions.
