IRNA – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani laid a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the vicinity of the Kremlin on Tuesday and paid homage to him.

President Rouhani has been in Moscow since Monday on a two-day official visit at the invitation of his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

Russia as the largest world country has witnessed lots of wars, which have claimed many victims and caused serious damage to the country.

On Monday evening in Moscow, President Rouhani held talks with the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on boosting bilateral economic cooperation and promotion of international-regional interactions.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Iranian president was awarded the honorary doctorate degree by the Moscow State University.
