April 29, The Iran Project – Iran and EU banking managers will discuss launching branches of Iranian banks in Europe in the Fourth Iran-Europe Banking and Business Forum, says an official.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Fourth Iran-Europe Banking and Business Forum in Tehran on Saturday, Ali Divandari, the director of the Monetary and Banking Research Institute of the Central Bank of Iran said after Asia, Europe is the second largest trading partner of Iran and expressed hope that the Forum would facilitate the progress of Iran-EU banking transactions.
Central bank of Iran plans to take significant measures to reconnect Iran's banking system to global markets so it is expected that the path for banking and trade relations be facilitated at the same time, Divandari stressed.
He also noted that issues such as the future of payment industry, launching Iranian banks in Europe, and observing international standards will be discussed in the two-day Forum.
Investment opportunities in Iran, particularly in infrastructure and energy sectors, will also be introduced to the European delegation, head of Iran's Monetary and Banking Research Institute said.
Nader Maleki, Head of International Forum of Frankfurt bankers also said at the Forum that Iran's policy is to open the doors of economy and welcome foreign investments to develop the country’s infrastructures.
Tehran is hosting the Fourth Iran-Europe Banking and Business Forum, organized by the Monetary and Banking Research Institute with representatives from 35 European banks, companies and financial institutes, on April 29-30.
