14 Jun 2017 - 11:27

IRNA – Iran's ambassador to Oman said there is a political will in Tehran and Muscat to expand bilateral relations.

Mohammad Reza Nouri Shahroudi made the remarks in his first meeting with Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, chairman of Oman's State Council (parliament) on Tuesday. In the meeting, they discussed issues of mutual interest for the two Muslim countries.

The long-standing, distinguished relations between Iran and Oman are an indication of wisdom and prudence of the two countries' leadership, they affirmed.

Stressing on the parliamentary ties of the two friendly countries and calling for giving momentum to the work of the friendship groups of the two parliaments were among other main topics discussed in the meeting.

The Omani official condemned recent terrorist attacks in Tehran and submitted a written condolence message to his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani on the incident that claimed the lives of 17 people, mostly civilians.

Daesh (the terrorist group ISIS) claimed the responsibility of the terror attacks on June 7.
