MNA – Iranian rock climber won the title at the speed climbing event to bring home the countries first ever gold trophy at the World Games.
Reza Alipour of Iran first gained the upper hand over Poland’s Marcin Dzienski who had a false start in the semifinal of the speed climbing completion.
The Iranian climber later finished first in the final as Danyil Boldyrev from Ukraine had a false start as well. It was the first gold medal for Iran in The World Games history.
Representative of Iran was followed by the Ukrainian opponent who settled for silver in Speed Single Men. The bronze medal of the division was bagged by Russia’s Stanislav Kokorin.
Alipour’s victory came on the second competition day of The World Games 2017 underway in Wroclaw, Poland 20th to 30th July.
The city of Wroc?aw, the capital of Lower Silesian Voivodeship with more than 640.000 residents, is playing host to the 10th edition of the multi-sport event.
