July 29, The Iran Project - An Iranian lawmaker has criticized US anti-JCPOA policy, saying that Americans will be the main loser of violation of the nuclear agreement.
?Speaking to a reporter on Saturday, Mojtaba Zolnour referred to the recent remarks of US president accusing Iran of a violation of the nuclear accord, and said what is important is that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has for several times explicitly confirmed Iran’s commitment to the nuclear deal in its reports.
Zolnour went on to say that Americans are trying to hamper the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) under different pretexts of Iran’s launch of the space satellite, Iran’s violation of human rights, etc.
Iran has complied with the letter and spirit of the JCPOA, he stressed, adding but it is committed to the accord as long as the other negotiating parties adhere to the terms of the 2015 nuclear deal signed with the Islamic Republic.
The Iranian parliamentarian also pointed to the US administration's anti-JCPOA hostility, saying Americans will be the main loser if they want to violate the terms of the agreement Washington and five other world powers signed with Tehran.
US State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert claimed on Thursday that the rocket launch violated United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231.
She called Iran's rocket launch a "provocative action" that violated the "spirit" of the JCPOA.
On Friday, the US Treasury Department announced new sanctions on Iran over what it called Tehran's "continued provocative actions," including Thursday's successful test of a satellite-launch rocket.
