Iran to unveil new recce, combat drone: Defense minister
Iran’s defense minister says the country plans to unveil a new indigenous reconnaissance and combat drone, dubbed Hamaseh, in the coming days. Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said on Monday that several other achievements in the defense sector, including maritime and missile equipment, are also set to be unveiled.

 
Individual votes determine election outcome: Leader
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says individual votes determine the fate of an election, adding that the law must be observed in every stage of the electoral process.

The Leader made the remarks in a Monday meeting with the officials in charge of holding Iran’s presidential and local council elections on June 14.

 
Iran: Quake rattles region near nuke reactor
Iran says a moderate earthquake rattled a region near the country’s main nuclear reactor, but there were no reports of damage or deaths in the surrounding area. The official Islamic Republic News Agency says Monday’s quake had a preliminary magnitude of 5.1 and was centered near Kaki, about 100 kilometers (60 miles) southeast of Bushehr on the Persian Gulf coast.

 
Any arms Israel targeted in Syria not Iranian: general
A top Iranian general said any arms Israel targeted in Syria did not come from the Islamic republic, in remarks published on the Revolutionary Guards website on Monday. Brigadier General Masoud Jazayeri “denied Western and Israeli media reports that an Iranian weapons depot has been targeted in Syria,” the website reported.

 
Iran set to begin registration of presidential election hopefuls
The official registration of hopefuls for Iran’s 11th presidential election begins on May 7, the country’s Elections Headquarters has announced. According to the announcement on Monday, presidential hopefuls can sign up for the race on May 7-11 at the country’s Interior Ministry.
