IRNA – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani in a message congratulated Secretary of Lebanon’s Hezbollah Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah on the victory anniversary of Resistance Movement in the 33-day war.


The message released on Tuesday reads, “I am happy to congratulate you and he pious and brave youth of Lebanon on the anniversary of the great victory of the Islamic movement’s fighters over the occupying Zionist regime during the honorable 33-day war.”

The 33-day war started on July 12, 2006 with Israel's aggression on Lebanon soil and ended with the UN Security Council resolution 1701 on August 14, 2006. The Israeli forces had to retreat from southern Lebanon.

After a lapse of years since the prideful victory and disclosure of the military and intelligence aspects of the great and historic war, the military strategists and free nations, especially the Islamic Ummah, look at the significance of the eternal epic honorably, reads the message.

'No doubt that occult assistance, intellectual leadership of Your Excellency and self-sacrifice of the Lebanon’s Islamic Resistance brave youth have crated the unparalleled epic in the contemporary history, brought dignity and honor for Lebanon and opened a new chapter in the history of the Muslim nations’ campaign against the occupying Zionist regime and its supporters.

“On behalf of the great Iranian nation and members of Iranian parliament, I once again congratulate Your Excellency and commanders of the great war on the big victory,” Larijani said.

Majlis speaker wished the martyrs of the Resistance lofty status and Nasrallh good health and prosperity, the men and women of the Rresistance success and the Lebanese nation dignity and honor.
