IRNA – Managing Director of Bank Melli Iran (BMI) Mohammad Reza Hosseinzadeh announced on Monday that the BMI branch in Hong Kong has reopened.
One of the necessary moves to eliminate obstacles to restart activity of the branch was choosing and introducing a certified and independence institute to prepare a report on readiness of the branch.
In this concern the well-known and certified institute of 'Ernest & Young' was introduced to Hong Kong supervising body.
Also standards were taken and confirmed by the institute and presented to related officials in Hong Kong.
The supervising authority of Hong Kong confirmed final report of the institute and also voiced its agreement to restarting work of the Hong Kong branch the (PLC).
Hosseinzadeh said that Melli Bank (PLC) in London also publicized agreement of the Hong Kong supervising authority for reopening the Melli Bank in Hong Kong on its website on September 15, 2017, so the branch is offering its banking services to customers.
Following implementation of JCPOA in January 2015, Iranian bank branches in abroad speed up to open their branches and now by adopting banking regulations and financial transparency of the hosting country are opening their branches.
