IRNA - Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said the country's attempt to uphold human rights have their roots in the basic principles and obligations stipulated in the Iranian Constitution.
Addressing a meeting on human rights issues in the Iranian capital on Saturday, Shamkhani stressed that the human rights campaign launched by the bullying powers against Iran is politically-motivated and biased.
'It is aimed at challenging the Islamic Republic under the pretext of human rights issues,' he said.
He also emphasized the need for prompt and comprehensive elaboration of legal capacities for human rights in Iran.
Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council also said that the Islamic Republic should be deemed as forerunner of the Islamic human rights across the globe.
