IRNA – The ground forces of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) have confiscated a consignment of explosives and suicide belts as well as communications equipment in Saravan, southeastern Iran.
'A terrorist group tried to smuggle the consignment into Iran in a bid to carry out sabotage activities, create insecurity and incite unrest inside the country,' IRGC announced.
'IRGC together with police forces is always ready to monitor all suspicious moves along borderlines and foil enemies' terrorist plots.'
An explosive belt (also called suicide belt or suicide vest) is an improvised explosive device, a belt or a vest packed with explosives and armed with a detonator, worn by suicide bombers.
