IRNA – Iran will export its liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Iraq's Basra as of the next Iranian calendar year to start on March 21, Iranian minister of petroleum announced on Wednesday.
Iran has already started exporting gas to the Iraqi capital, Petroleum Ministry quoted Bijan Zangeneh as saying.
Zangeneh further talked of the gas projects in the country, saying completion of the remaining phases of South Pars Gas Field development projects is the top priority of his Ministry.
The super giant South Pars, known as North Dome in Qatar, is the world’s largest gas field which has 28 phases in the Persian Gulf region.
On Iran's oil deals, Zangeneh said that Petroleum Ministry is conducting negotiations about many oil deals, but the US and certain regional countries are trying to hinder these talks.
Iran and the six world powers- US, UK, France, China, Russian and Germany- reached a landmark nuclear agreement on July 14, 2015.
Anti-Iran sanctions were lifted in January 2016, and the country was overrun by many foreign companies from different world countries which were eager to cooperate with Iran.
According to the international deal, all sides should be committed to the multilateral agreements; however, the United States has been creating obstacles to implementation of the deal and putting pressure on others to do so.
