IRNA – Iraqi Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri said on Thursday that his country will never forget Iran’s support in its fight against terrorism.


Iran has always stood by Iraq, Salim al-Jabouri said in a Thursday's meeting with Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri.

He referred to friendship and development of bilateral ties as the main massage of the current trip.

Iraqi Parliament supports agreements signed by both countries, he said adding that Iraq needs to cooperate with all countries especially Iran.

Unity and conversion were the key to the victory of the Iraqi people and government over terrorism, extremism and disintegration, he added.

He went on to say that relationship between Iran and Iraq is based on mutual interests.

Jahangiri is heading a high-ranking delegation comprising political and economic officials in his three-day visit.

Iran's Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari and Minister of Agricultural Jihad Mahmoud Hojjati are accompanying the First Vice-President.
