IRNA - Iran's Ambassador to the UN nuclear watchdog Reza Najafi hailed ratification of Palestine nuclear safeguards as an important development for international community and regional countries.
Despite the limitations of the US and the Zionist regime, the agreement on Palestine nuclear safeguards was ratified by IAEA Board of Governors on Wednesday.
This development has paved the way for Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) in the Middles East and also for making the region free of nuclear weapons, Reza Najafi said on Thursday.
He expressed congratulations to the Palestinian people, and hoped for implementation of the safeguards agreement all over the occupied Palestine.
The agreement consists of all Palestinian territoriesexcept those occupied the Zionist regime, he added.
The only roadblock would be Israel’s nuclear arsenals which is regarded as a serious threat to peace and security in the region and the world, Najafi reiterated.
Palestine has joined NPT in 2015 and the current safeguards agreement was ratified yesterday by members of the Board of Governors.
